About Kevin
An Advocate for All
Kevin Kim has lived in Valencia for the last 6 years and finally found a place where he could call home. He is married and has 3 kids- the oldest 2 have promoted from the Saugus School District and are at Valencia High while his youngest is a 4th grader at Bridgeport Elementary. Kevin has worked for the past 20 years as an attorney – 12 years in New York City and the last 8 in Los Angeles for prominent law firms.
Kevin started giving back to the community by coaching his kid’s baseball and basketball teams and built connections with many different kids and families throughout the community. Recently, he has turned his focus to education. Kevin was selected to serve on the Asset Management Committee for the Saugus Union School Board to advise on the disposition of the Santa Clarita Elementary School site. Kevin was also elected to the School Site Committee of Bridgeport Elementary and served as the chairman for the 2025-2026 school year. From his experience serving on these committees Kevin saw so much good going on in our schools – the engagement of the community, hard working teachers and administrators, students who love to learn. But he also saw things that needed to change if we want to achieve the goal of having the best schools- a lack of communication between schools and parents and a Board that did not ask enough questions or challenge assumptions made by administrators that led to a lack of transparency in decision making.
Kevin will bring his experience as an attorney, the lessons he learned working on the district’s committees and the relationships built through volunteering with him onto the Board. He will ask questions and examine every number to make sure everything makes sense and adds up. Kevin appreciates all the hard working teachers that have taught and still teach his kids and will make sure that their voices are heard. Kevin also knows the heart of a parent and how every bit of information on how the school is planning on educating their children gives them so much relief in knowing that there is a solid plan. But most importantly- Kevin knows why we cannot fail and have to build the best schools possible. He sees his daughters smile and knows he can’t let her down. He sees the faces of all the kids he has coached and their families. He knows the kids in his daughter’s classes. We have to succeed for their sake.
Priorities
Focused on What Matters
Students First
Everyone says that students have to come first, but to Kevin this is real. His daughter is in the district. Her friends and class mates she has known since kindergarten are in the district. The kids he has coached are in the district. Kevin has built personal relationships with these kid and their families- he will not let them down!
Experience Matters
Kevin was selected to be on the Asset Management Committee for the SUSD. Here he worked with administrators, listened to the community and helped reflect community priorities in district planning. Kevin was also the chairman of the School Site Council for Bridgeport Elementary and worked with teachers, the principal, and parents to review the academic and safety plans for the school.
Building Trust
The Board needs to build trust with parents, teachers, students and administrators. The only way to do that is to communicate and be transparent. Make everyone feel that they can participate and be heard and that everyone has a voice. Kevin will use his 20 years as an attorney to make sure that everyone has a voice at the table.
Endorsements
Kevin is proud to be the Teacher’s Choice and has been endorsed by the Saugus Teacher’s Association!

The only way to build a strong system is to do it TOGETHER. Parents, teachers and administrators have to work with the Board to deliver strong results. My campaign will mirror that by brining all members of the community together.
